Spring forward or fall back!
Feng shui tips for changing seasons
Since feng shui is based on natural laws, a big part of it is to follow the changes in nature.
So, what does that actually mean?
Well, changes in seasons = changes in your outer and inner world.
And with some small adjustments, you’ll find yourself more in sync with time – which will support you in your doings and let you enjoy the current season fully.
So, let’s dive in and see how you best can welcome this new phase!
Oh, and If you’re heading into fall, hop over here instead to get the feel for fall.
And if you’re facing spring, just keep reading below.
Attune to the nature of nature
Depending on where you live, the changes in nature are, of course, different and more or less obvious – but still, there might be some kind of shift when moving from one phase to another.
The trick is to acknowledge the change and to mirror it in your outer space and inner state.
This will help you feel more attuned to the season and let you go with the flow of the current time – which basically means that you’ll feel more at ease and also live with more ease.
When it comes to spring, it’s all about letting the light and the fresh air in, new beginnings and also living a more open and light life – literally and figuratively.
Let this be reflected in your home and workspace, as well as in your mind.
Below are some general guidelines that hopefully will help you tune into the current season.
Here’s what to do for your outer space during spring – Practical
- Remove and store any stuff from the previous season. Like clothes, leisure and sports equipment, outdoor furniture and things like that. Replace with what belongs to this coming phase instead.
- Change indoor fabrics and textiles like pillows, throws, beddings, curtains, tablecloths, towels, etc. to follow along with the new season.
Spring = cool, light, and thin materials.
- The change goes for colors as well. One way to get inspiration is to look for what colors are appearing in nature for this coming season.
Spring = lighter and paler color and hues.
- Add flowers, plants or other things from nature that reflect this time of the year.
- Have seasonal fruits and veggies at a display and strive to eat food from the current season as well.
Have a look around and be aware of what you see in your space – outdoor and indoor. Is there anything that actually more belongs to the phase you’re now leaving behind, and that could be tucked away until it’s time for it again?
It’s all about being up to date with the current season.
Here’s what to consider for your inner state during spring – Metaphorical
You can also see the changes in nature metaphorically, which you probably already do but might not be aware of since most of this just comes naturally.
However, by paying more deliberate attention to it and consider how you can make use of it, you might experience better timing and ease with what you’re up to.
Spring is all about:
- Speeding up and excitement for what to come.
- Sowing seeds and starting new projects.
- Expanding and moving outwards.
- It’s like the morning of the year.
Play around with this, and see how it can support you and your life.
